Some Useful Gaelic Phrases


Scottish Gaelic comes from the Celtic language, which makes it one of the oldest languages in the world.


The list of phrases below might one day be useful if you go to Scotland.


Ceaud Mile Failte - Translation "One hundred thousand welcomes".

Chan eil mi a' tuigsinn - Translation "I don't understand".

Tha mo bhàta-foluaimein loma-làn easgannan - Translation "My hovercraft is full of eels".

Mar sin leibh an dràsda - Translation "Ta ta for now." (Goodbye)
