BMGMT 102 – Introduction to International Business

This course examines the fundamental issues facing international commerce. The course covers: country and regional differences, the economics and politics of global trade, and investment, business strategies and structures of international firms, and the global monetary system. WTO and the world's basic religions are also covered.

 

This course is  not taught in CANVAS, however it is recommended that students review the OC CANVAS Information Page before registering in the online CONNECT CLASSROOM to obtain the Instructor Course ID. The course is typically taught as an online and on-campus blend called a Hybrid, and requires both an Instructor Course ID as well as a Student Access Code for registration into the online classroom environment.   • When taught in the Hybrid format, no pre-class assignments are due.

    Olympic College required textbook:
    • Global Business Today Current Edition, Charles Hill, Irwin McGraw-Hill Publishers
    • Hybrid or Online courses require access code contained in a new textbook package or obtained separately. Once online a free etextbook is available.
    • In an effort to save student's money, any edition of the textbook is sufficient for offline study. Once online a free current edition of the etextbook is available. There are no significant differences in editions.

    Optional:

    • Workbook or student disc to accompany text

    Students unable to attend the first class session or be online by the 3rd day will be administratively dropped to allow students from the waitlist in.
