Course CIS 182 - Networking Concepts

Course Description:

This hands-on course is designed to introduce you to LAN/WAN terminology, design, topologies, protocols, various network hardware components, software, cabling and connectivity technologies. Today’s advanced networks demand IT Professionals that can manage, maintain, install, configure, operate and troubleshoot basic network infrastructures. Learn, practice and validate these skills with the Network+ LabSim. This course, along with the Network+ certification training suite, will teach you the foundations of network management and give you the professional skill necessary to launch or enhance a networking career.

Course Learning Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Use acquired skills and knowledge to describe, differentiate and evaluate various LAN and WAN technologies
  • Research and document applied LAN/WAN technologies for reference and review by technicians, administrators and users
  • Collaborate with team members using a variety of network operating system tools to install, configure, manage and troubleshoot network resources.
  • Show readiness for successful completion of the CompTIA Network+ Exam

Course Learning Outcomes:

The student will develop and apply knowledge and skill in configuring, testing, and troubleshooting basic networking hardware, protocols and services before taking and passing the CompTIA Network+ certification exam.
