Course Cmptr 185 - IT User Support Fundamentals

Course Description: Introduce students to the basics of delivering computer user support within an organization. Provide the “soft skills” and the “self-management skills” needed at the help desk while enhancing the knowledge, proficiency, and abilities necessary in the user support arena.

Course Objectives: Upon Completion of this course you will be able to:

• Perform entry-level IT Help Desk functions (such as troubleshooting, customer service, performance monitoring and maintenance), emphasizing problem-solving and communication skills in addition to technical coverage
• Apply knowledge,  developing ideas and skills, both individually and in teams, to help prepare for a team-oriented work environment
• Perform basic, entry-level IT Help Desk operator skills
