Information Systems (GIS) Certificate Programs
Geographic Information
Systems (GIS) is a rapidly expanding field with multiple opportunities that
range from data entry to project management. Federal, state and city agencies as well as
private companies employ GIS-qualified people to work in areas that include
disaster response, city planning and product placement. See The GIS

The Technical Design program at Olympic College offers
three certificates in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

TECHNICAL DESIGN GIS TECHNOLOGY CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION
This
program is designed to provide the student with the skills necessary to perform
as an entry level GIS Technician.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES Upon completion of this
program, successful students will have demonstrated the ability to apply
their skills and knowledge in the following ways: 1. Demonstrate sufficient skills to perform
entry level work as a GIS Technician. 2. Understand and apply basic GIS techniques
and methods as required in the workplace. |
